Go-kart racing is the least expensive of all motor sports. First of all, you will need a kart. Used karts that are race ready can cost in the range of $600 to $1,200. New karts can cost in the range of $1,200 to $2,500. When you start out racing, you want to get used equipment. Safety equipment should be new. You need to get a one layer driver suit which can cost anywhere in the range of $150 to $400. Helmets are another must have new which can cost anywhere from $150 to $500. Neckbraces and driving gloves are important and can cost $20 to $80. Driving shoes let you feel the pedal of the kart as if you were barefoot and can cost $50 to $150.
